Hello my name is Andrew Campbell, welcome to AC Silver.
These fine and impressive set of four antique George III English sterling silver sauce tureens
are quite exceptional examples.
They have been made by the renowned and very collectable London silversmith Robert Garrard
I.
Each tureen has a plain oval form onto an oval spreading foot.
The rim of each is ornamented with a gadroon decorated border
They are fitted with elegant tapering acanthus leaf decorated loop handles.
Each tureen displays the engraved initials MJ below an Earl's coronet to one side of
the body and cover.
To the other side of the cover and body is a bright cut engraved crest of a lion rampant.
Full hallmarks are struck to the rim of each foot.
Part hallmarks struck to the interior of each original push fit domed cover.
The domed covers are surmounted with reed and acanthus leaf decorated ring handles.
All the decoration is very crisp and sharp.
At a weight of 92 troy ounces the pieces are an excellent gauge of silver.
The highlighted features of these exceptional tureens certainly make them ones that could
be sold with my highest recommendations.
If you require any further information or assistance regarding this exceptional sauce
tureens, please do not hesitate to contact us via telephone or email.
