Hi, my name is Faye Mamadou Bamba.
I am a 23-year-old goalkeeper currently playing for US Quevilly (French Division 3).
I started at Diambars Institute in Senegal.
I first participated in a trial programme organized throughout Senegal.
There were 15.000 players...
I was selected by a former French international goalkeeper named Bernard Lama.
He recruited me during the final trials.
During the 5-year training programme,
I was afforded the opportunity to compete against French professional clubs.
I played with the U19 team
as well as with the professional team in Senegalese Ligue 2.
My training and experience at Diambars
helped me develop and greatly improve on my physical, technical and tactical skills.
I joined France during Summer 2009
as I was recruited by CFA 2 club CS Avion.
It is true I rapidly adapted
thanks to my teammates who really gave me a nice welcome.
The coach placed his confidence in me
and I earned the place of goalkeeper of choice towards the end of the season
contributing to the promotion of the club to the CFA.
At the end of the season, I however decided to join Arras to get more matches under my belt.
I was then scouted by US Quevilly coach Laurent Hatton,
and decided to join the Division 3 club.
It is a very special season for me.
French National (Division 3) is a new level.
I learned a lot of things
developed my skills, and gained maturity.
In my opinion, my main skills...
When I am on the pitch, I am really focused and concentrated.
I also consider my aerial abilities as a strength.
Thanks to my agility, I can deal well with high balls.
My reflexes on the goal line are pretty good.
But... you know...
one should not speak too much about his skills.
People should see and judge by themselves.
The goalkeeper who inspires me the most
is a Senegalese goalkeeper who started in French National like me
before turning pro and playing for Monaco and Lille.
His name is Tony Mario Sylva
a former Senegalese international goalkeeper.
For the upcoming seasons, my objective is to sign a professional contract.
I do believe I have great skills
and am convinced I can evolve to the highest of levels.
These are not just words...
I would relish the opportunity afforded by a trial
to prove what I am capable of on the pitch.
I would be keen to join the Belgian or Luxembourg league
to gain playing time and simply enjoy the game.
