Patient: I received my injury when I was up at school. I was making a cut and just hyper-extended
my leg. What I hoped to get from it finally is, I've been dealing with some nagging in
my knees for I don't know how long. Finally, I have full mobility and I don't have to make
up excuses for my knee.
Dr. Meyer: My name is Dr. Steven Meyer and I'm an orthopedic surgeon specializing in
sports medicine. My patient James came to me several months ago. He had suffered a severe
cartilage injury in his knee.
What we're planning for him is a cartilage regeneration procedure. I really love being
a physician because of the opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of my
patients. Being able to take someone with a severe injury and help them return to their
normal function.
Patient: working with the people at La Peer was actually really great. They really did
take the time and they knew what was going on and they took care of me while I was there.
The facility was excellent. It's close to 5 months out of surgery now and I almost feel
normal. It's been a while and it's going to take a while longer for the complete recovery
process. But it's all been worth it and I feel like in a matter of months I'll be back
into top shape and I'll be able to get back on the field again.
