Hi! My name is Brian Lee, and I'm a bankruptcy attorney in DC.
I advise clients who are considering Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy.
My company, Lee Legal, is a debt relief agency.
Yes, bankruptcy attorneys need to get some exercise, too.
If you're considering filing for personal bankruptcy in DC, there are a few things you can do
to make our jobs a little easier.
First, run your credit report.
Go to annualcreditreport.com. Don't go to freecreditreport.com-- that's not free.
annualcreditreport.com is run partly by the government.
Second, make copies of all your bills
and any other evidence of outstanding debts.
Third, make copies of your last three years of tax returns.
Federal and state. Fourth, make copies of all your paystubs
for the last six months.
Oh . . . if you're married,
I'll need six months of your spouse's paystubs, too. Finally, make copies of any
important legal documents that may be relevant to your case.
Foreclosures, lawsuits, evictions...
anything like that.
So that's it: Credit report, creditor statements and bills,
tax returns for the last three years, paystubs for the last six months,
and any other important legal documents that you think might be relevant.
Every client of Lee Legal gets a free consultation.
So let's make the most of that time. Gather these documents and call
202-448-5136 to schedule an appointment.
