Hey everyone, my name's Rebecca Wolf.
And today, I'm going to show you how to apply liquid liner,
otherwise known as tight eyeliner,
which is what some like to call it.
First, you'll see that I've already applied the base, I have
light eye shadow on right now, a little bit of liner that
I applied with a brush already on my eyes.
I also have a little compact powder to blush on.
You don't need to worry about that because this tutorial is
about liquid eyeliner, which is going to be the second-to-last
part of your makeup routine that you need to address,
before of course, mascara, which is always last.
Today, because it's day, I have a dark brown liquid liner, this
one is CoverGirl, it's called Line Exact, looks like this.
I will remove the cap so you can see.
Because it's the day, and because it's a hot day,
I don't want to be overpowering my face with black liquid liner.
So today, I chose to use a brown liner to match the fact that
I already have a kind of brown eye thing happening today.
So, I will show you how to install this.
The first thing you're going to want to do
is you're gonna want to do your top lid first.
Let's see if I can get my bangs out of my face, right here.
And the reason it's called tight eyeliner is because
we're going to be putting it underneath our lids
instead of on top of our lids.
Sometimes people make the mistake of applying liquid liner
on top of the lid, which for parties, looks really great
if you want to do a Cleopatra cat eye thing, totally hot.
But we're talking about a day look, something that's very
subtle, that's going to bring out your eyes
without being overpowering.
And something you can do no matter how many times you've
done this before, whether this is your first time,
four thousand millionth time.
Just a little warning though, I have heard from people who
have eye sensitivity that applying this eyeliner
underneath the eye in the wet parts of the eye, which is
what we're going to be doing, can hurt their eyes.
So, if you have any sort of eye allergies, you might want to
check with your physician before applying makeup this way.
Otherwise, let's get started.
Okay, first what we're going to do is we're going to start
in the inner corner of our eye, like so.
I'm underneath, underneath the lash line,
and I'm drawing all the way across.
All right, can you see it's on the underneath?
So now we're going to go for the lower lid -- again, starting
from the inside and working our way to the end.
There you go, that's how easy it is.
I'm going to quickly put on my mascara, here, which is black.
Okay, so this is the eye with the liquid liner,
and this is the eye without.
I'm going to add mascara to this eye now
so you can see the difference.
So, there you have it.
What liquid liner does especially when you apply it
on the inside of your eye, it contrasts your eye,
and it brings it out, it defines it.
And I think that using an eyeliner such as this one,
a lighter color, not starting with black, but starting with
maybe a brown is the way to go, so it's not as loud
as perhaps using a black liner.
Okay, so now that we have one eye
with liner and one eye without,
I'm going to go ahead and finish the job
by putting eyeliner on the other eye,
just so you can see one more time how it's done.
Once again, I'm starting from the inside,
underneath my eyelashes on the wet part of the eye,
going all the way across until I get to the end.
Ooh, I got a little in my eye!
Beauty is pain!
Ok, I'm going to fix that up here a little bit, and I'm gong
to put now the liner on the inside of the lower lid.
All right?
And there you have it, liquid liner.
Voila!
Go out and get them, guys!
Thank you for joining me today.
Take care, bye.
