this was a piece for chorus and orchestra.
It was obvious that the political and social circumstances in Turkey could not bear a work like Requiem for Metin Altıok.

That is why, I wanted to compose a tribute that I could easily perform in smaller projects.....
with minimum cost, in concerts with my ensemble consisting of five people.
I wanted to commemorate all my friends I lost in the Sivas Madımak Massacre ...
all the intellectuals both my father Ahmet Say and I were close friends with since I was a child ... including Metin Altıok and Behçet Aysan.

I composed three poems: The first one is Behçet Aysan's poem "With a Branch in Spring" (Bir Bahar Dalıyla)...
the second part is Metin Altıok's poem "In the Room of A House" (Odasında Bir Evin) ... all these poems are on being lonely, on being an individual...

the third part is Aziz Nesin's poem called "Pain of Sıvas" (Sıvas Acısı)...
a poem he wrote after that painful event... after all, the horrible massacre began after Aziz Nesin had given his speech...

The poem "Pain of Sıvas" (Sıvas Acısı) is very touching, it reflects its own reality perfectly well... Aziz Nesin's reality, I mean... and I think it is real...

Based on these three poems, three sopranos, namely one mezzo soprano, one lyric soprano and one coloratura soprano are on stage....

as I have designed... in red, blue and green costumes... they stand on three corners of the stage, in full light....

the sopranos, at certain times, do not only sing but perform vocal variations in instrumental parts, which are technically challenging... or even play other instruments....

Vibratones, log drums, hapi drums, other types of interesting instruments...
All these may lead to a pioneer work... it may serve as a good experimental work for young sopranos as well...

and for someone like me who had not composed an opera before, this could also serve as a first trial, a first piece in the opera form.
