I’m nervous because I’m not great performance-wise, and I’m feeling rather on edge going to the U.S.
I’m really looking forward to make an appearance at one of SXSW’s many stages.
I’m treating it like it’s like any other venue. I believe I must go and do my very best.
It’s new to me. I had no idea what it was until a couple days ago. I believe the right to participate in SXSW is an additional prize to the award I received last summer at “IMAGENE AWARDS.”
I found out about it then. I didn’t know it even existed. I heard about it when I was invited to perform.
I did not make another album specifically for this event. I feel comfortable producing it myself. I’d rather make it myself instead of having other individuals come in and burden me.
I just need someone to embellish the music well. I think I will continue to work on my own.
A lot of people around me were critical about my solo promotional activities. I crafted heavy music when we were doing promotional activities for Rainysun, but my music has a bit of teuroteu mixed in.
Therefore, a lot of people have criticized me and asked, “What exactly are you doing?” I am currently doing promotional activities for my solo career, but quittiny Rainysun has not crossed my mind.
Thus, after some time passes and the members’ and my greed disappears, I think we could perhaps get together and produce explosive fighting music and it would be great.
I don’t know when that will be exactly, but I think we might be able to tackle that in a couple years time.
I think it’s the philosophy behind the idea, “When things are going well, push it even harder.”
I think the government is supporting K-pop a lot with PSY’s popularity growing immensely all over the world.
The global music market is looking at Korean music at a positive light as well.
I believe this performance in the U.S. was only possible because of him. Before, I used to think the U.S.was a huge mission as it was so far away.
However, the top artists have come to Korea to perform, and Korea’s status has grown in that manner.
Regardless, global stars make money in various parts of the world! That’s what I’ve been thinking lately haha.
I think it means a lot for them to come to Korea. And for me to able to perform outside of Korea.
I worked on the first and second album quickly and released it swiftly, so a lot of people might assume that my next material will be out relatively soon.
However, I think my new material might take awhile.
First of all, I’ve grown older and I need to make a living, so I will prepare my album when I get the time to do so.
It’s not that I’m living any differently now that I’ve released music.
It’s just that I need to slow down and invest on behalf of my life.
If I invested my personal life towards my first and second album, I’m thinking I should invest time in my life and experience as much as I can so I can put in my experiences in my next album.
Therefore, I have not set any tangible plans just yet. I could release an album with the way things are going, but I’d much rather think about it over some time.
It’s a pleasure. I’ve been given the opportunity to do this interview, and it still hasn’t really hit me that I’m going to the U.S. I probably won’t until I physically get on the plane.
Going to the U.S. is going to be rough because of the long flight time.
I will go and do my best. I can’t say I will come back with personal gifts for everyone, but I will drink the American water and take on an even better character.
It would be great if I could put on that type of performance. Stay healthy, everyone. Also, it was a pleasure.
