Can I bring my laundry to your place? My washing machine is not emptying water!
Have you checked the lid switch? If the switch is broken or needs to be adjusted, the washer
won't drain.
I have a front loader, not a top loader.
Then there are three possible causes: the drain is blocked, the water pump died or the
belt isn't working right.
What could be wrong with the drain? It worked fine last week.
If the drain hose is suddenly kinked, the water can't drain. Or it could be clogged.
What did you say about the water pump?
If the pump to pump out the water broke, it won't drain. Though you could manually drain
it with a water hose.
I'd like to find a solution before I resort to that. I don't need the kids jumping in
soapy puddles today, when I can't wash their clothes.
The belt that agitates the washer may be the problem. It could have slipped or outright
broke.
Can I put the belt back in place?
It would be better if a tech did that. Besides, it might be broken, and you don't have a replacement.
What else could I check?
You could check the washing machine's filters. Though that should always be done after you've
unplugged it from the wall.
I know, and I certainly can't handle another shock today. What could clog it so suddenly?
A small piece of cloth could have been sucked in and gotten stuck. Or a lot of debris could
have gotten in to the pipe and plugged it.
I'd really hate to find out my son lost his marbles, and that's why the washer won't work.
And it could be wood chips, lint, all sorts of things.
All that weird stuff stuck in your pockets, from gum to candy to plastic wrappers -
Which comes out - ideally - when you do the laundry.
Can I do my laundry at your place while waiting for a tech?
Only if you check your kids' pockets first.
