Hi.
I'm Tanya, and this is the WebCaptioning platform.
And this is the video that shows you
how to check your caption files, once
the caption files are ready.
When you go to the My Jobs menu,
this last file that I submitted, Tech Video 3,
the status now says, "Caption Files are Ready."
So what I can do, if I don't want to check them,
I can just go straight to download or send.
Instead I'm going to go ahead and look at them.
If you click on Caption Files, it shows you
all the different types of caption files.
And this platform actually provides
all the different types of caption files for you,
and it lets you check each one individually.
Each file is different in that they apply pretty sophisticated
caption breaking rules based on the caption format.
If you want to look, here's a file type that,
when you look at the actual caption files which
appear in this column on the right,
you can see that this particular online player likes
the caption file to have one line
of captions per caption -- just one line of text.
We're going to close this one and look
at another one.
Let's look at the YouTube.
We'll check that one, and you'll see that that one
shows two lines of text per caption.
Now, you can scroll through here.
There are no tasks found, you can see
in the issue column underneath the video, which
is a good sign.
So at this point it's kind of a preference
of how much tweaking you want to do to the caption files.
You can play each file from the right column.
You can hit the play button.
VIDEO: Now I'm going to talk
about Bertil Chappuis from McKinsey,
who's talking about some very interesting
issues surrounding cloud and how to think about that.
M c Kinsey -- TANYA: Okay.
So you could sit and play the entire video
and watch it scroll through if you wanted.
Some people might do their second check that way.
Some people might just scroll through and look and see --
for the short captions make sure the timing
is good and you like that.
You might actually just look for errors in the text.
For instance, if it started a new caption somewhere
where you didn't think it should.
And you can tweak it that way.
You can adjust the time code on each one
of the captions.
And once you're finished with that and there are no
tasks, you can just say Complete My Job.
And it says, again, the caption files are ready.
So this is where you choose to download.
If you click on this button it will zip and download
all the files to your hard drive, to your download directory
or wherever you've set up to download files.
If you click Send, it opens a send email,
and you put in the email address
or addresses of people that you want
to send the files to.
You can put the subject line that you want
and a message that you want.
It will provide a link in the email where
the person can download the files for up a week.
After that you're going to have to resend the email,
or you're going to have to download
the files yourself and just send them whichever files they need.
So that's it.
