Our appliances make it easier to put food on the table and to keep our homes clean.
But when the electric and water bills come in, some older appliances can burst the budget.
This is your Union Plus Green Minute and I’m here to tell you how to go green with appliances
and save green at the same time.
Energy Star qualified appliances will lower your bills and protect the environment by
using a fraction of the electricity and water that you use now.
A new refrigerator can save you $165 dollars over the life of the unit.
A new washer can lower your bills by $135 dollars a year. And you’ll save enough water
to fill three backyard swimming pools. A new dishwasher can save you $40 dollars
a year.
And that’s not all.
If you use your Union Plus credit card to pay for energy-efficient appliances, you could
get a $100 dollar home energy rebate for every $400 dollars you spend, up to a maximum of
$500 dollars back.
