Hello everyone, my name is Mariela Busheva, and I'm the owner of J'Adore Ballroom in Charlotte
North Carolina. I came to the States in 2001 as an exchange student through Hyatt State
University. I started dancing when I was seven years old.
My mother took me to a dancing school and she pretty much made me become what I am now!
At age 15, I became a junior champion of my country.
"Here we go, and four, one, two, three, four. One, two three four. One, two, three, four. One,
two, three, four. One, two, three, four. One two, three four. One, two, three, four. One,
two, three, four. One, two, three, and four!" So, in my life, I had two big dreams. One
was to come to United States and the other one was to always dance because dance is my
passion. So whenever I came to the States as an exchange student, I looked for places
to dance. I started teaching at Freddestaire, and then
I moved to another independent studio, until one day I met someone and we both had a dream.
He had a dream to open up a fitness center and I had a dream to have my own studio. So
we did open Temptation Ballroom and Keep Fitness at that time.
"Two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, tow, three, opening out, two, three,
four. One,two, three, four. One, two, three, four. One more time! One, two, three, four,
one, two, three, four. One, two, three, opening out, two, three, and twist! very good, very
good!" When I started my own business, I actually
was doing a nursing school at the time which it may seems gonna crazy, I flip-flopping
from jobs, and I keep wanting more from life. So I had to quit school to be able to proceed
with my business desire and all other opportunities out there for me.
So, 2009 came around, five years later, 6 years later and I decided I'm gonna go back
to school because I never leave things not finished.
So,since I already have one bachelor degree from before, it was easy for me to transition
and go back to school as a BSN which means Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Queen's
University in Charlotte at the same time I also have my own business which is the dream
I always had. So now, I'm trying to joggle school, work and recently we just opened a
second location in Gastonia North Carolina. So in 2009, me and my dance partner, we sold
the gym that we had at that time and the studioTemptation Ballroom we moved to a new location and we
changed the name. The studio now is called J'Adore Ballroom dance studio. And it's also
in Charlotte, very close to the old location. So now, there is, so many many many more doors
out there for me. I am finishing nursing school next year graduating complete, getting a license,
two studios are running. And what is there out for me I don't really know because I wanna
continue going to school and I wanna become a nurse-anaesthetist. I also wanna continue
having the studios I have now. And honestly, I'm one of those people that always goes for
more, it never stops. I'm passionate with what I do, but the thing is that I always
look for more to do. Remember to always follow your dreams! Yes,
it is hard to actually achieve them, but if you don't follow them, you'll never won out!
