One month remains until children return to school.
However, today staff of Te Whanau o Waipareira began back at school.
It is said, those taught at home will stand composed on the marae.
These are the hard working hands of Te Whanau o Waipareira
learning all about Whanau Ora.
So that they all know how to advance the Whanau Ora scheme.
These people will return to work next week,
but they have returned a week early to learn more
about the changes this year.
So they know how to register with the scheme
and how to manage contracts and so on.
The benefit is they will be awarded a Diploma in Whanau Ora.
We are immersing them in the new world of Waipareira.
We are training those who do home-visits.
People are asking,
Who is Waipareira? What is Waititi Marae? Who started it?
And all those questions.
Apart from training, getting to know one another was also a major goal.
They all know one another. Our meeting will run smoothly.
This isn't work. We are having so much fun learning.
We want them to enjoy it so that they go into the community
and carry out their work.
The training is one week long.
On Friday, the Whanau Ora training will end
and then they will focus on their own health
by planning a sporting event for themselves.
Rapaera Tawhai, Te Karere.
