Okay everyone, so I'm going to wrap things up by talking a bit about how you can become
a researcher, but you don't need to have ever studied science and you don't need to have
any formal qualifications, because at the University of Manchester we believe that academics
are not the only type of expert. So, let me give you an example, I'm a health services
researcher, I work on projects that aim to improve NHS services, but it'd be impossible
for me to be an expert in all the types of conditions or injuries that are out there.
But it might be that you have that experience, maybe you have used services, maybe you've
had a condition like depression, diabetes, heart disease or arthritis. Maybe you've cared
for someone that is using NHS services, and that makes you experts through your experience.
And at the University of Manchester we want to work with you as experts through experience
to develop new ideas for research and help us to carry out those projects. Maybe you've
asked yourself why is it that those services work the way they do, maybe you've got some
fantastic ideas about how we can improve services, maybe you've even asked yourself how research
could be improved. And at the University, we're working on lots of projects with members
of the public, who are working in partnership with us to run those projects so that we can
help to improve NHS services for everyone. Okay. Thank you.
