Brother Elias Sanchez Chavez: The Benedictine Life, has it origins with our Saint and founder, Benedict of Nursia.
Saint Benedict was a resourceful young person
who was studying Liberal Arts in Rome
When he realized that the environment was, a little, shall we say, corrupted,
he realized that if stayed in this environment it could be his ruin
So he decided to life a different life.
He left this life to initiate a search, a search of God.
I believe that monastic life can demonstrate that there are different values
for which man can give his life, which leads him to true happiness.
They are values that are practically forgotten, and the fact we can embrace this life
we are a testimony, before the rest of our brothers
who have not noticed that there is a part of man's life
that goes beyond just material things.
The life of man presents a transcendental dimension, spiritual,
that can be developed, and realize that at the end of it all, or as a last resort,
this dimension of mankind is what causes real happiness.
