Today I am going to demonstrate a V stitch, or it could be called a shell stitch. but its a light an airy type of a stitch good for summer.
I am going start off with a chain of 16.
For the purposes of this demonstartion I am using a size I crochet hook and what I'll do now is skip three chains.
I'll do a double crochet in the fourth chain, chain three. and do other double crochet in the same stitch and skip two
chains do a double crochet, chain three, and double crochet in the samte stitch. Skip two chains,
Double crochet, chain three, double crochet in the same stitch. Skip two double crochet , chain three, double
crochet in the same stitch. Skip two and then double crochet, chain three, and double crochet in the
same stitch. and that gives us five, shells, or v stitches, And now what we'll do is do out chain three,
and turn our work and we repeat the same stitch in the stitch below. You do a double crochet, chain
three, and do a double crochet in the stitch below. and then you double crochet, chain three, double
crochet, all in the same stitch. and there is how it looks like and I will show you a variation. Some
people like to put there their work all in one stitch, but it is up to you. What you would do is go
to the center of the chain three and you would pick up the chain, and this will be a little more time
consuming. And what you do is double crochet and chain three, and double crochet. and there you have
it in the center of the stitch below, but it's through the chain. and I'll demonstrate the same way.
you go to the center of the chain and you pick it up through your chain. you double crochet, chian three,
and you double crochet all in the same stitch. and you kind of have an idea there, what the two variations
will look like, this is going through the stitch and this is going through the chain, through the center
of the stitch. I am going to go ahead and demonstrate this last one here, through the center of the chain.
Chain three, double crochet. and when you get to the end, you do a double crochet, in the double crochet
below, which will actually be the chain three and thats how it will be on each row. So when you chain
three and turn your work and you get back as its facing this direction adn you cross back over you will
double crochet over as you increase each row. And that's kind of how it looks like. ok here's what a
couple more rows added on looks like. I have added one two more rows. you can see I have just double
crocheted in the previous, chain three and went on down and did the double crochet through this chain
The multiple for this pattern is three plus one.
