Hey guys, our second photo challenge
and today we're in very familiar place for most people
we're in a car park
You might be asking what are we going to do in a car park
honestly I do not know
But I thought - let's give it a try
and make this Photo challenge a bit more challenging
then photographing trees and plants in a park
a Car Park is quite a challenge
I already have some ideas, that are naturally
about cars
I'll probably start by looking for some car logos
and work on some abstracts
cutting out the vehicle so we don't end up with simply car shoots
but more of an abstract ... lets see how it works out
so we have a 10 minutes Photo Challenge
and we'll see how meny good shot can we get in 10 minutes
in a Car Park ... lets see
so, I'm going for Abstracts
and basically I'm looking to use parts
of the vehicle logos
in my abstract
basically what I mean when I do abstract
abstract is a simplified image
this means that I look at my object
as shape and color
and nothing more
so I play around with the shapes and colors I have here
so here, for example, I look at this Chevrolet grill
and on it's logo
I will close down the aperture a bit
so I could have equal sharpness throughout the image
and we'll start to get some interesting stuff here
I might try some diagonals
I don't want the logo to be the most dominant thing in image
But I can certainly use it
the raeson I am here in this very bland and ordinary car park
is because these are ordinary cars
not Ferrari or Porsche or anything like that
but you can still do some very interesting things
One of the things I always look for
when I'm photographing Abstract
is textures
everything repeats itself creates some kind of texture
and it creates interest, such as the vehicle's grill
which is the most common thing
I can shoot just the grill by itself
which is a bit boring and dull
but by giving it a bit of angle can create great deal of interest
and then I can always add the logo
of the car
I can look at it very differently, too
very interesting
well, we have here an interesting Mercedes taxi
Mercedes is always interesting
that's nice
a thing to watch out for
is the reflections that we get from all these elements
you need to be very careful
Ideal time for shooting these kind of things is very early or very late in the day
but we're here by chance
so let's hope we don't get too much mess in these reflections
very interesting... let's look at this Mazda
It has a beautiful color
I can put the lamp post in the background
to create something different
cool
well we got to one of my favorite cars
we have here a beautiful Porsche
let's give it some special attention
one of the beauties of these late hour reflections
as the sun begins to set
are the shadows, and the very nice reflection and colors
which we can use
I use a very shallow depth of field
looks amazing
well, it's a Porsche
let's see what else we have here
we can do a few more abstracts
which are a bit more simple
cool
we're in a car park
so naturally
not all vehicles will be clean and shiny
it's not a car exhibition
but still
with a bit of a keen eye
you can find the cleaner vehicles
and use it
well, I with my 24-70 lens
and using a 24-70 lens
on a full frame camera
could be very wide
that creates a distortion ... as I get closer to the object
I can create a very interesting looking distortion though
again, something to watch out for
is the reflections
coming back from all kinds of parts and different elements of the car
that will always happen
when photographing cars
well our time is almost up
looks like we found a few interesting shots
I can't wait to see how it will look on the computer
So let's hope we got some good results
and till next time - Don't stop Shooting! :-)
