It's Friday, February 7th, and last week in Greene County Randal E. Crosley admitted to
murdering 19-year-old Katelyn Wolfe in June of last year. He also plead guilty to conspiracy
to commit ***, conspiracy to commit ***, criminal confinement with use of a vehicle,
and dealing a schedule four controlled substance.
Judge Dena Martin scheduled Crosley's sentencing hearing for 9 a.m. on March 4th, and Crosley
faces up to 85 years of imprisonment.
Last Sunday, around 1:40 a.m., the Lewis Township Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at
the Old Coalmont School. Monday morning, Lewis Township Fire Department Assistant Chief Shawn
Husband said the fire's origins seemed suspicious, but that nothing would be considered final
until after the State Fire Marshal investigation.
Thursday afternoon, the Clay County Sheriff's Office took two juvenile males into custody
in connection with the arson of the school building. The juveniles, ages 16 and 17, are
preliminarily charged with arson and burglary, both class B felonies.
On August 9th of last year, a naked two-year-old boy was found wandering through the Greene
Sullivan State Forest alone. It was later determined that the child was found 1.6 miles
from his home.
His mother, Frances Rooney, is charged with neglect of a dependent/putting a dependent
in a situation endangering the dependent's life or health, a class D felony.
Rooney's jury trial will begin on Tuesday, February 11th.
