The next stone that I wanted to talk a little bit about
is Apophyllite. And this one might be a little bit unconventional, too, as
far as stones you'd think about using
for the fall and winter months. But Apophyllite
is another stone that's really great for self-reflection. So I have a nice big
cluster here
and I love Apophyllite. A lot of people get it confused with quartz crystal,
but if you look at the Apophyllite - I don't know if this is going to show up
very well - but Apophyllite actually has four sides. So there's
two here and then there's two here.
It's a four-sided crystal, it's tetragonal,
instead of a six-sided crystal being hexagonal like a quartz crystal. So it's
a really good way
to try and differentiate the two and not get them mixed up.
Apophyllite also has this just
shiny radiance to it that sometimes is lacking in quartz crystal, so that's
another easy way to tell.
But the Apophyllite like I said is really good
for self-reflection, again pulling in what changes you need to make, how you
can do some self healing.
It's also really great for new beginnings. So in the new year when
you're making those new year's resolutions
and looking at ways that you can change and grow for the better,
Apophyllite can help you be really open and honest with yourself about exactly what does
need changing.
It will also help motivate you to follow through with those changes and
make those changes to the fullest that you can. Make those changes for the
highest good of your being and for those around you.
So definitely a good stone to use that way.
It's normally from India, there are a few other places that it does come from,
but the highest quality specimens do come from India.
It's not a very expensive stone - it can be to get a larger cluster -
but, you know, most the time you can get a nice piece of Apophyllite for
around $4 or $5. So it's definitely something that,
you know, I would encourage everybody to have in their healing toolkit.
