This is Bilbo.
Say hi, Bilbo!
He's my daughter's cat.
Not that I'll replace Mel, right?
But now Mel is an old lady,
And right now she is sleeping on the couch.
So Bilbo came here to make a mess today.
Today I'm very inspired!
And I'll put all my inspiration on this little box.
We are going to have a nice class, with all my creativity!
And easy!
This is a tea box.
it is rectangular and has a loose cover.
And a frosted glass with the word "Chá" (tea)
Different, right?
I'm going to paint this box using Daiara's Aging Gel
And I chose four colors:
Pequiá Yellow, Jatobá Brown,
Imbuia Brown and Sucupira Brown.
So let's work!
CREATIVITY WITHOUT LIMITS with Iára Capraro
The material list and recipe are in my blog,
so if you forget any detail, just check it out. Ok?
Fist of all, I apply the Base para Madeira Daiara (Daiara's Wood Base)
Ah! It's very important to use a foam roll,
to prepare a smooth surface.
Dry and sand it.
Beginning tinting the entire piece with the Pequiá Yellow
using a soft brush and the roll, of course.
Inside and outside, on the top and bottom...
leaving some transparency.
Really tinting it.
After all painted and dried,
I'll enhance this little box...
using a stencil strip.
I like to paint stencil using foam beaters
for that reason I have lots of them,
and I use one for each Gel color,
this way my work gets easier and faster!
If you don't find this kind of ***,
you can reach the same result using a foam cube.
To paint the friezes, I'll use a round brush and the Sucupira Brown Gel.
And to finish my piece,
I'm going to use the Selador para Acabamento (Daiara's Finishing Sealer)
Do you know this product?
From Daiara!
Colorless finishing sealer
for many surfaces.
What does it means?
It means that, after you finish a piece,
you'll apply one coat to seal the surface.
Then you'll ask me "Isn't the sealer a product to use under the paint?"
This is other kind of sealer!
This one is finisher.
If you've done a decoupage,
or you've done scrapdecor...
in the most of times, papers are porous.
So they need a finisher.
This layer won't shine.
It's not going to be a varnish.
It could be a little glossy.
But it will make your piece waterproof.
This way you can clean it with a moist cloth...
It won't change. The paint will stay fixed. It'll be protected.
This is a great product. It's very thin,
And you'll aways use it with a soft brush to reach a smooth surface.
It's better than varnish!
Do you know?
I'll give you an example.
When you paint a piece using a pink PVA paint...
and you wanna apply a solvent based varnish...
what will happen?
The pink paint turns salmon!
you've never seen it?
"But I want this varnish on the pink paint!"
So you need to apply the finisher!
The Selador para Acabamento Daiara (Daiara's Finishing Sealer)
You'll see how easier it gets to apply the varnish.
But let's get back to my piece...
now I'll finish it with the sealer.
Wow! I told you I was inspired today!
