Hi, I'm Travis with Mad Dog Cycles in Provo, Utah. We're talking about how to ship a bicycle.
First thing you want to do is probably go to your local bike shop and grab a bike box
suitable for shipping, and once you get that, get the correct materials to wrap the frame
to protect it. Take the front wheel off, put it on the side, get a small box that parts,
like for the pedals. Have you. Take the bicycle and put it in the bike box. Take it down to
your local shipping place such as FedEx, DHL, or UPS. Now remember, there's two sizes. There's
over sized two, which is a seventy pound box, like this one here, and there's over size
three, which is a ninety pound, dimensional size box which is going to be a lot more.
That's why you want to go to a bike shop to get the appropriate sized bicycle box to ship
your bike. Because, if you get a box that's too big, you're going to pay a lot more for
shipping. As far as sealing the bicycle box up, I use a glue. As you can see we did that
before. Put the flaps over, take some packing tape, take a couple strips on top of each
of these strips here, and if you have trouble, just take it to your local bike shop. They'll
be happy to box that for you at probably a small fee, and get you on your way.
