What's up guys, for Complex News, I'm Emily Oberg. Good news for all you Chipotle fans—
which is pretty much everyone out there, the fast food chain may have finally beat its
ongoing E. Coli scare after closing over 43 stores last year. The Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention are expected to announce that the unfortunate outbreak is over.
Though the cause of the outbreak is not known, the chain has taken extreme measures to ensure
that the virus will not make its way back into its stores. On February 8, Chipotle will
close down each of its 1,900 locations for a company wide meeting to address proper food
safety procedures with all staff members. The Wall Street Journal reported that Chipotle
will also share its fourth quarter sales later this week, which they say have plummeted as
much as 6%, with earnings per share plummeting more than 50%.
In total, Chipotle has seen a over 200 E. Coli cases since last year, with 141 of those
being infected in Boston. To get back in people's good graces, Chipotle plans to offer major
discounts for the upcoming Super Bowl weekend and, will begin to flood the market with a
ton of ads. Still, is this enough to get people back into a Chipotle? There's no denying its
deliciousness but, I think it's gonna take some time before I can fully enjoy a burrito
bowl ever again. That's the news for now for the rest of your pop culture updates, subscribe
