Hello! My name is Aaron Moon and I’m here on behalf of expertvillage.com. Another technique
is not actually hitting the drum it’s placing your hand on top and just moving it across
the head. You can get different sounds depending on the type of head you have, this is just
a Remo fiber skin with some decent texture and it’s just going to give a nice texture
to the actual sound that you’re trying to achieve. So I’ll illustrate it one more
time…the Djembe has many sounds you can get it out of it the last two techniques I
dealt with the head directly but the Djembe you can play the whole instrument as you’re
playing up here, you can have one hand playing, I have a ring on my left hand and that’s
going to produce the sound on the side of the drum so… If you want you can just flip
it over and you can just play the side of the drum.
So it’s a versatile instrument you’re going to be able to get a lot of tones out
of it and I hop those techniques help out. If you’re interested in picking up the Djembe
and learning I hope those become of some use to you, so thanks for visiting and return
to Expert Village soon.
