Understanding the information on your AT&T bill makes it easier to manage your communication needs.
Because you're a valued AT&T customer, we'll help you understand your first AT&T Business Network
bill by reviewing some key elements. Let's get started.
Here's a typical ABN bill from AT&T. Your 13-digit account number is used to identify
your business. Have it ready whenever you contact an AT&T representative to add or change
services. Your billing date reflects the first day of the new
billing period. The Bill-At-A-Glance section provides a quick
look at summary-level charges. You'll see: the previous bill amount,
the latest payment received, any adjustments made,
any past due amount, your current charges,
total amount due, and payment due date.
In the Billing Summary section you'll find summary charges and charges listed
by customer groups. Groups can have sub-accounts which further
organize your charges in a meaningful way. Note the total current charges amount shown
here. This matches the current charges amount in the Bill-At-A-Glance section.
Accessing the AT&T BusinessDirect(r) website allows you to view up to 13 months of detailed billing 24 by 7. Set up one-time or recurring
payments to help avoid late fees, create, submit and track billing inquiries and disputes without picking up the phone and much more. If you're
not already registered for AT&T BusinessDirect, and would like to be for no additional fee, please contact your AT&T Representative or call the
number at the top of your bill. This sample bill shows a customer with AT&T
Business Network or ABN. ABN is a bundled offer bringing multiple AT&T products and service components together under one contract, one
bill, and one commitment. Available services include but are not limited to access, managed internet
service (known as MIS), voice over IP (known as VOIP), and switched toll-free service. Your combination of services may be different.
Next is the Current Charges section, which details charges for all applicable services for each
customer group and sub-account. We start with group one and the first sub-
account, showing the associated circuit number,
as well as the customer address that applies to the sub-account.
For additional details about charges by group, including any applicable discounting, access your
account in AT&T BusinesDirect and click on the reports option to view the discount summary by group report.
This sub-account has T1.5 service. The recurring charges are billed one month in
advance for the full billing period. In this example, the billing period is July 19th
through August 18th for the Local Channel charges.
Additional details for these charges including any applicable discounting is available by viewing
the charges and credits detail report on the business direct website.
This section ends with surcharges and other fees.
It also includes a total for the first location, the circuit,
and the first sub-account. The bill continues with details about the second
sub-account, which has MIS with an AT&T managed router.
Recurring charges are billed one month in advance for the full billing period.
The port ID as well as the circuit ID that it works with are displayed.
This service includes the local access from your location to the AT&T POP or point of presence. If you provide your own router, the reference to a
managed router will not appear. Prorated charges for MIS are listed next.
If you are reviewing your first bill, or the first bill after adding service, you'll see details about your service order and completion date.
Note that adding service or making changes may not always trigger charges on your bill.
In this example, service was completed on July 1st, which is before the billing start date of July 19th, so this service is also subject to prorated
charges for eighteen days from July 1st through July 18th. Prorated charges cover the time period from the order completion date up to one
day before your bill date.
This section finishes with a total for the second sub-account.
Listed next is information about the 3rd sub-account.
This sub-account has Voice over IP, or VOIP, and shows recurring charges billed one month in advance for the full billing period.
The IP Flexible reach calling plan is displayed. Your bill may reflect a different calling plan.
Call detail is available by viewing the VOIP outbound call detail report on the BusinessDirect
web site. You can easily customize report views to best fit your business needs.
Next, one-time charges appear for international offnet service, which covers any international per-minute calling you make.
Offnet charges tell you that the calls were not made over the local AT&T network. If you don't make international calls, you won't see this
section on your bill. Prorated charges for the VOIP calling plan are
next. Service order details including the July 2nd
completion date are listed. As explained earlier, prorated charges cover the
period from the order completion date to the day before the billing period start date, in this example July 2nd through July 18th.
This section ends with applicable surcharges, fees and taxes,
a total for the subscriber, as well as the total for the third sub-account,
and the total for group one. The bill continues with charges for group two
and sub account four, which has switched toll-free service.
Recurring charges are billed one month in advance for the full billing period.
Next, are prorated charges. Information about the service order and
completion date are displayed. The prorated charges in this example cover July
11th through July 18th. Applicable surcharges and fees are also listed.
Group two continues with usage charges for the switched toll-free service. The RTN, or routing telephone number for the toll-free service, is
shown. In this example the usage, or call type, is
inbound loyalty. Loyalty means you are connected to the local AT&T network. Your bill may reflect a
different call type such as switched or dedicated.
This next set of surcharges and fees applies directly to your switched toll-free usage.
The total for the routing telephone number is listed,
as well as the total for the fourth sub-account, and total for group two.
Lastly, total current charges are shown. The News You Can Use section may provide
important regulatory and marketing messages pertaining to your account. Check here for any rate changes
or changes to your service. AT&T's bill is designed with our customers in
mind. It's clear, concise, and organized sections make it easy to understand your bill for AT&T services.
We hope you found this quick overview helpful.
And thank you for using AT&T.
