This time, our main theme will be the quests.
I already mentioned this in the first video, but the team was forced to trash a major part of the original scenario,
and the explanation is quite simple:
The scenario of ARR actually takes place five years after the events that involved Bahamut,
meaning the destruction of Eorzea.
The story of ARR thus is a direct sequel to the first version.
Considering this fact, it would have made things difficult to implement the quests leading to a partial destruction of the continent.
Still, the side quests will be adapted for ARR, to fit the new world and engine.
For those that are interested in knowing what happened before ARR,
the legend will gradually be told by the NPCs who deliver the quests.
I don't want to spoil the storyline, but from what I remember, our character used to have a special gift,
that allowed him/her to see in the past in a brief moment.
This power could be exploited for short flashbacks!
Anyways, believe me, you won't have time to get bored,
as the scenario of ARR will be complex enough (there is a risk for you to be engrossed :o).
For the moment, all I can say is it will be separated into three main plots,

[Warning: Ironical comment inside] We actually know a bit more than this, but like I said a few secs before, I wouldn't feel OK about spoiling the story.

About the leveling system, it's been completely changed
Even though it had been partially implemented in the first version,
with quests that rewarded with exp points,
gaining levels in ARR will purely mean completing quests, and thus constantly go deeper into the story,
while in the first version, that meant timeless monster bashing sessions, quite annoying in the end.
Grinding through monsters is still a way to get some points, but it will be more profitable to do so to complete an objective.
The level cap of your first job will be reachable only by following the plot.
If we don't know how many classes you can level up this way,
an ability of "New game+" is RUMORED to be studied by the team.
but well, the producer claimed leveling will be much smoother and pleasant than in the first version,
thanks to real-time events, notorious monsters ― that will in addition be a way to obtain decent gears,
the Primals ― barbarians tribes deities, raids (4-8 or 24 players), etc., that will, I'm pretty sure about it, keep you busy for a good amount of time.
The levequests are part of the solo side quests that will remain in ARR.
They are a way to get unlimited amounts of gils and experience ― by bashing monsters or crafting,
the sole restriction to this being the amount of authorizations you will be granted every 12 hours.
99 authorizations can be stockpiled if you don't use them.
What changes in ARR is you can grab more leves directly at the corresponding camp, instead of wasting time going back to the main cities.
There is a lot of content I have skipped, such as social "timesinks" [French joke about the beauty of the English noun] ― the Gold Saucer/Casino, housing, and raising chocobos.
One more thing, that is more likely to concern European players:
most of the quests ― this is not the interesting part ― will use real-time videos.
Only the main quests will offer CGI and dubbing, so that your game won't fill up your hard drive before the first expansion is out,
but also to release the patches faster ― dubbing and creating CGI does consume a lot of resources.
But what will make ARR unique ― and this is where it becomes interesting, is that it will be dubbed in Japanese, English, but also German and French. It's a first in the FF series.
The game could also be translated in other languages in the future, but this will depend on the success of the game, out of Japan, Europe and the USA.
FFXIV definitely has the ambition to conquer every region of the world.
