Take a bit of a boardgame, mix it with the virtual world and add a pinch of fantasy. What will the result be? Right! Dungeon Dashers!
A Game by Jigxor which recently got Greenlit on Steam.
No wonder, because Dungeon Dashers satisfied already in the first few minutes.
Take control over four characters.
Ryder, the rogue
Sir Jacob, the knight
January, the elf (yes, like the month)
And Ardon, the wizard
The gameplay is turn-based, which means
you have a limited amount of actionpoints for each character
These points are used for every action, like movement, attacks and skills.
If there are no enemies around, your actionpoints are infinite.
However, you and your opponent, have only a limited number of points during a fight
A fight starts by opening doors, triggering events or similar circumstances.
Time to use your savvy!
Brute force isn't always the right way to choose
Clever positioning and cautious usage of your skills is the key to victory
Every protagonist got his own pros and cons,
his own skillset and situations only he can handle
Ryder, for example, can blink to positions, unreachable for everyone else
while Ardon has to interact with flames, to reach the goal
Speaking of it, your goal is to gather all characters to a specific spot inside the dungeon
Time doesnt't matter!
It may sound easy, but it's quite a challenge
you need every character to solve the given puzzles
The character-design reminds of meeples and soon you'll realize
that the movement "animations" are similar to a tabletop game
You might think, you are playing one if you wouldn't know it better
The levels are full of traps, treasures and riddles
you can obtain new equipment like weapons or armor by opening chests
Gold can also be found, even if it's not used right now
After finishing a level successfully, you'll get a short overview
about monsters killed, chests openend and gold collected
Based on this, you get a rating between 1 - 5 stars
It's not a big deal, that gold isn't used yet, since Dungeon Dashers is in its alpha-state,
and can be bought on steam or the site itself
