Hi my name's Greg Marzolf, I'm a student
in a systems engineering program at CSU through OnlinePlus.
I like systems engineering because it deals with the complexities of life.
So take something like the electrical grid, right, very complex, where you have
generating stations, and transmission lines, and distributions and utilities
and then use system engineering tools to boil this down
to be able to optimize that system, or to create redundancies
and resiliencies within the system, so when it gets attacked or there's a natural disaster
the whole thing just doesn't quit.
I decided to seek a postgraduate degree
after a friend had told me about this OnlinePlus program.
I was like, this is for me.
This is everything that I've been looking for. Not only is it a quality
education, but it's the flexibility.
I feel like I'm in the classroom, I can ask questions
just like I was sitting there, that the professors are responding to the
questions,
the teams that we form up. It's just a good experience.
So this is home. I live here in Fort Collins with my wife
and my four daughters. We have a dog, and a bunny rabbit, and two turtles.
We're very busy at the Marzolf house. We have four daughters are always involved with
sports programs
which requires to be running 'em oftentimes many places a night so it's very chaotic.
The Marzolfs are very busy. We do have four daughters, and I think it's important for them
to see that you have to study to do well. So this has been a blessing in the sense that I've
been able to
devote time to my family and
because we have a great online program, I've been
also able to work on a postgraduate degree.
Being able to accomplish a degree program
and still do
a good job at work, and stay involved with my family
is most important. It gives me the flexibility
to accomplish my dreams. And for someone as busy as I am,
you know, that's perfect. It's exactly what I was looking for.
