Hello there! I’m reporting here from the Non Profit Fair on West Campus where we have
nearly 40 organizations with internships, volunteer positions and jobs for Santa Barbara
City College students. We also have a fabulous raffle for the students to participate in
if they visit with six or more of our organizations. They can enter our raffle for fabulous prizes
like tickets to the movies or we have a goodie bag from Supercuts, so come on down and enjoy
the fair!
Hi I’m Lorenzo, I’m a student worker up in the Career Center. We’re out here today
at the West Campus at the Non Profit Career Center. The Career Center offers a variety
of services, everything from resume workshops to one-on-one career counseling. So make sure
you stop by the Student Services building, the Career Center, and check us out.
Hi my name is Laura from Habitat for Humanity and we came to Santa Barbara City College
because we’re looking for motivated, well-rounded students to help with our projects.
Hi my name is Jay from Project Hope and we’re here at the Non Profit Fair trying to promote
our organization and what we’re about. We want to inform those who are unaware of the
resources available to them on campus. There are many things as far as doctors, psychologists,
all types of things like that, being able to handle stress and strategies to do so.
We’re also recruiting volunteers, and anyone who’s interested in the club and wants to
contact us at ECC 20 on East Campus, they can come check us out. And yeah, that’s
what we’re here for today.
Hi my name is Sean and I work for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. We’re
here at the Non Profit Fair at Santa Barbara City College because we get a lot of support
from them and the students. We’re always looking for film majors, business majors,
communication majors because we’ve got a little bit for everyone at the film festival.
So, we’re currently looking for interns and volunteers for the 2011 festival. If you’re
interested, please visit us at www.sbfilmfestival.org.
Hi I’m Johan, I’m a recruiter with the Peace Corps. And we’re here at SBCC recruiting
today because of their students’ international interest and we’re looking to send qualified
volunteers abroad for service, and we’re hoping that SBCC students are willing to do
something like this. If you want more information about Peace Corps, please visit www.peacecorps.gov.
