Brooke Burgstahler reporting.
Ready for your heart to melt?
16 families in Auburn, Maine received phone calls last week saying an anonymous stranger
had paid off their bills.
A terminally ill woman came in to a Kmart store and in 15 minutes had covered over $3,000
for those touched by her good deed.
And what have you done with your life lately?
The Layaway Angel deeply affected store staff with store manager Joyce Bean saying "I wanted
to cry. It was that powerful. It takes something like this to make you think, "Oh, my word.
If I were facing the end of my life, would I take time to reach out and help people?"
The angel's random act of kindness spreads even further than the lucky 16.
Rina Thibeau was one of those touched, and she's an angel in her own right. Every year
Rina uses Kmart's layaway program to buy gifts for needy children in her community as a part
of charity she started with friends called Christmas Smilez. Her organization helped
at least 85 families in the past year.
Referring to the layaway angel's deed, Rina said "So many other kids, this woman is helping
and she doesn't even know it. When I talk about it, its like a dream."
Wherever this lady is may Karma bring her the best in life. We wish her good health,
and send lots of loving to you mystery woman!
Wow... I really need to go do some community service...
