Hi. My name is James Klempster and I’m the Portfolio Manager for the Momentum Factor Series Funds.
The range of three risk profiled funds is designed to provide returns greater than the rate of inflation over the medium to long term.
Of the three Factor series funds, factor 5 (Factor 5 of the Factor Series Funds) is the most growth orientated and targets growth of 5% greater than that of inflation each year
over a minimum of six years.
The fund is designed with you the investor in mind and has been reviewed and classified by an independent risk rating company
as suitable for investors with a low medium risk tolerance.
We have designed these funds because we at Momentum believe inflation will be a significant issue for today’s savers.
The Momentum Factor series is designed for those of us that are worried our investments may not be able to keep up with inflation
and will lose value over the medium to long term when compared to the ever increasing cost of living.
The funds are constructed using a diverse range of investments to help manage risk and provide more stable returns over time.
In simple terms, the funds avoid putting too many eggs in any one basket. When building investment solutions, we aim to have different types of eggs in a variety of baskets.
Intelligently spreading risk and return drivers in this manner should raise the chance of your assets growing steadily over time
and so offset the remorseless increases in the cost of living.
The different types of investments that the funds use serve different purposes.
Some investments are more stable and dependable, while others are more likely to provide capital growth.
As fund managers our key objective is to actively create the right mix of investments in a manner we believe will deliver the desired outcome over time.
We continually review, and if necessary change, this mix of investments to ensure that your assets are invested in the right place
given the market conditions of today and tomorrow rather than those of the past.
Investors can’t buy past performance – investing for the future has to be the focus.
Over the long term we believe that, if allowed to act unchecked on your investments, inflation will have a significant impact on the value of your assets over time.
Anyone who is currently saving or is thinking of saving for life’s big events such as retirement, university fees or starting a family
should not underestimate the compounding effects of inflation.
At Momentum we believe it is crucial to make investments today that aim to protect and enhance the value of your money over the medium to long term.
