ALONG THIS MID-
DAY... A HARRISON
COUNTY ROAD IS
BLOCKED FOR AN
OVERTURNED
TRACTOR TRAILER.
IT HAPPENED
AROUND EIGHT-30
THIS MORNING ON
HIGHWAY 36 WEST
BETWEEN RENAKER
BERRY AND
STRINGTOWN WEBBER
ROADS, WEST OF
CYNTHIANA. W-K-
Y-T's MIKE BEIER IS
NEAR THE SCENE
WITH MORE ON WHAT
HAPPENED, AND
WHEN POLICE EXPECT
THAT ROAD TO
REOPEN.
MIKE BEIER INTRO:
As you can see behind
me... this is going to be
a very costly accident
because the semi truck
that rolled was carrying
brand new Mercedes
Benz.
VO:
The Harrison County
Sheriff's Office says the
rollover happened
around 8:30 this
morning, roughly 10
miles west of
Cynthiana.
When first responders
arrived to the scene on
Highway 36, they
found a semi truck
rolled over on its side.
The semi was carrying
a full load of brand
mew Mercedes Benz.
Sheriff's deputies say
the semi was heading
towards I-75.
They tell us an animal
crossing the road may
have caused the truck
to lose control.
The driver was not
injured.
As a result of the
rollover the west
bound lane of Highway
36 remains closed.
Deputies tell us this
isn't an ideal road for
semis to be on.
SOT: Sheriff Shane
Stephens/Harrison
County
"This road is yeti me
for semis. It's too
curvy. Obviously if you
operate on this road
you need to careful.
Fortunately he's ok."
MIKE BEIER TAG:
Now, several flatbed
trucks just arrived on
scene.
Sheriff Stephens say
it's going to roughly
four more hours before
they can clean up this
scene.
In Harrison County,
Mike Beier, WKYT.
THE EASTBOUND
LANE OF HIGHWAY 36
IS OPEN.
BUT DRIVERS ARE
URGED TO USE
CAUTION WHEN
DRIVING THROUGH.
