Welcome to the Vitalife show I'm doctor Janine Bowring
and today we're talking all about healing fibromyalgia
now I see so many cases of fibromyalgia in my practice as a naturopathic
doctor
and the numbers seem to be increasing as time goes on. I have
you know the belief that this has a lot to do with the toxicity in our
environment and this is why
more and more people especially women I find have this diagnosis
of fibromyalgia so fibromyalgia symptoms include pain
especially in certain trigger points which of course the doctor has often
diagnosed
as well as fatigue and chronic fatigue so not being able to have that get up and go
energy
and this can become so debilitating for so many women
as well as insomnia and joint pain
as well as you know pain and stiffness
overall in the body and also as it progresses cognitive dysfunction so
loss of memory and the inability to think clearly
and of course this again is so debilitating for so many people so
the question is what can we do because really there's not a great
you know alternative solution to this in terms of conventional medicine
really the only way to treat this is through some other basics which will go
through
so first on the list is having a healthy diet so eating
you know as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible
lean protein in the diet so getting enough protein because this is what feeds
our muscle cells which is so important
as well as lots of anti oxidants and antioxidants help to quench those free
radicals that we are exposed to a daily
basis and really important that we're getting enough of them in our diet so
I have previous videos that have talked about
the best foods that are high in antioxidants and encourage you
to look at that and to take a supplement is really important as well so whole
food multivitamin

at not only helping your disease symptoms and your pain but also
making you feel better in preventing disease from getting worse
in the future. Essential fatty acids we also have to
be mindful of always keeping our body in an anti inflammatory state
and this is exactly what in taking the right essential fatty acids can do for
us so

and detoxification as I said at the beginning of the video
toxicity is where it's at when it comes to fibromyalgia I often find that there
