Hello! I am a teacher in North London.
Apologies for the song choice... ... but, please bear with me.
I recently blogged from @TeacherToolkit about my #Failure as a teacher.
and how often I had the #GuiltyTeacher Syndrome.
As a teacher. A middle leader and as a senior teacher.
It shouldn't take me, or this AMAZING video to tell you that teaching
is an incredibly demanding and rewarding career. As classroom teachers; school leaders and
policy makers... we make a key difference.
A difference to the lives of all our children. BUT
and it's a 'big' BUT ... It's a tough climb!
Sometimes it's a struggle ... ... to reach that elusive
'Outstanding'. To demonstrate 'progress'.
To motivate; to challenge; to guide; question; to follow their hearts; to dream; to console;
to achieve. and so, so much more!
More than I can share in this 3.5 minute video! (Cue: Guitar interlude)
So, in just 1.5 minutes. This short homemade video ...
is to inspire and realign your thoughts. For teachers to continue to do what they are
best at doing. To teach.
To inspire. To aid student achievement.
But you! Yes. You watching this ...
and you at the back! You are
already doing the best that you can. Do NOT allow
policy makers and #GoalPostShifters to define what 'Outstanding' means to you.
Keep your head held high. Puff out your chest!
Brush down your armour, Take a deep breath ...
Go on; do it. Hold it! KEEP HOLDING!
and breathe and say: 'I am Outstanding'.
Thank you for watching. by Ross Morrison McGill
