When shooting the 3D pictures for the test of Speed FXH-10 digital camcorder photo recording
capabilities, I decided to take photos also in 2D mode.
Then I placed on exactly the same spot the Sony Handycam HDR-TD30VE digital camcorder
and took photos also in 2D mode, with settings
for photos. The results are in this video. I've compiled all the photos taken from the
same spot in exactly the same conditions.
Since Sony TD30VE can't make photos in 3D, at least we can compare the 2D photos with
other camcorders or even digital cameras and make our conclusions. While the results are
less than average with the Speed FXH-10, the Sony TD30VE really shines with better colors,
better resolution, more panoramic picture, sharper colors and brigthness. The only feature
missing in the Sony is the 3D photos. It still a mistery why 3D photos is
not present in this partcular Handycam model.
Pictures taken with Speed FXH-10 are 16 megapixels, while the Sony TD30VE pictures
are 20.4 Megapixels. On another hand the Sony Handycam is more
heavier camcorder, the battery life is shorter and the vertical resolution is smaller.
But batteries for Sony are easy to find, while for the Speed there are only availble from
online shops like e-Bay. The handycam is not heavier or bigger than
DSLR cameras, but the results are still impressive.
I think you won't have any difficulties guessing which picture comes from the Speed and which
from the Sony. The differences were obvious even after the
first two photos. Keep in mind that the Speed was given a big favour
here with nice ambient light conditions in a sunny day of August and you will see at
the end of the video a picture taken indoors in a darker place,
where the results are even more
in favour of the Sony Handycam.
We have a clear winner here
it's the Sony Handycam HDR-TD30VE.
