JIM TURNER>> This is my diabetic kit. I take this everywhere with me...
... and I mean everywhere. It's got my insulin, my syringes
... my meter, my strips. But being a diabetic... you need a lot more than
a kit. You need a diabetic toolbox. Thank you very much.
So let's take a look at what's in my diabetic toolbox.
First thing I have in my diabetic toolbox is a dietitian.
DIETITIAN>> Oh... Jimmy... JIM>> Yes. DIETITIAN>> Fiber is your friend. JIM>> Right. Mmm mmm. DIETITIAN>> Eat.
JIM>> I have a therapist. A lot of people don't have 'em, but I have a lot of stuff
going on in my life
and I need one.
THERAPIST>> Tell me about your week, JIM>> I'm just showing people what's in the toolbox. THERAPIST>> Uh huh... Well...
I'm still charging you for the session. (WHISTLE BLOW) JIM>> I've got a certified diabetes educator who act as my coach...
my mentor and my cheerleader. And you know it's really important to go through your
toolbox every now and then just clean it out. Because their stuff in there
that you don't need you.
FITE>> Dude! Ha ha! Hey, Man. I got us a six pack, a bowling ball and a bag brownies.
Meet me on the roof. It's gonna be great! Whoo hoo hah!
JIM>> Probably the most essential component in my diabetic tool box
is my doctor. DOCTOR>> Jim. The good news is these numbers look really good. The bad news is
somebody in there stole my pants. JIM>> He's probably got a tee time with my podiatrist, my
ophthalmologist and my
dentist. You know not everybody has him, but I always take in my toolbox
wrestler Diamond Dallas Page. DIAMOND DALLAS>> Hey, Bro how ya' doing? Aargh.
Did you do your YRG workout today? JIM>> I didn't.
DIAMOND DALLAS>> What? JIM>> Sorry. DIAMOND DALLAS>> Guess what? You're going to do it... right now!
(VOICES COMING FROM THE TOOLBOX)
JIM>> But probably what I rely on the most in my diabetic toolbox...
... are my family and friends. My uh... army
of type threes. Yeah, yeah... I'm coming. Gotta go...
