Hi there, my name is Alistair
Welcome to the Borrowpit meadows
And the Salt Line.Which I am going to take you for a little bit of a look around.
And tell you some information about.
What I have done now I have just brought you up
To this lovely little view point that we've got
on the borrowpit meadows
And the reason it is called Borrow Pit Meadows is
because the pool just over my shoulder
was dug out so they could take the clay
And use it on the rest of the site.
And the reason they did that
Is because the site was a landfill site.
I have just brought you down to the Borrow Pit Pool itself now.
As you can see it is a lovely little patch of water.
Local fishermen really enjoy spending time here.
If you come down here it is a lovely place
to have a quick wander around
take a rest and if you are lucky
you might see a kingfisher.
This is one of the notice boards that we have on many of the sites
just keep your eye out for them because they have
All the events, local activities
Site information and such like
really useful.
Let's go to the Salt Line.
Well here we are we have walked up from the Borrow Pit
and now we are on the Salt Line.
Which runs that way and that way.
I’ll go and show you little bit more if you would like to follow me.
Morning.
And as you can see it this lovely long trail
that runs through the countryside.
I'm sure many of you will know
That it's a disused railway line
So that brings an end to our short tour
of the salt Line and Borrowpit Meadows
So I hope you've enjoyed it?
And with a bit of luck
I will maybe see you down here one day
Goodbye now.
