Hey guys my name's Haley welcome back to the Disney cupcake channel today, we're gonna be making some Disney pins, so let's get started
So you guys know how much I love
Disney pins
And I was super excited whenever I saw that Target released this pin designing studio art kit
Now these are not actual Disney pins
They will not work if you try to trade them they will not count in my pink collection at all. They're not
Official Disney pins, but it's pretty cool. You can make your own and use them to design different parts of your outfit or
Hook them onto lanyards or do a bunch of different things with them
I thought this was a really cool idea
And I'm really excited to make these so this kit is for
ages 6 and up
And it includes everything you need to create some pins
Then there is the front and this is the design and style pin studio
And the sides just say the same thing with the mckeon friends logo
And the back shows everything that it includes you get 18 pins 18 backs eight paint colors
18 double-sided adhesive strips in an easy-to-follow instructions
Sheet like I said, I found this at Target
And it was $9.99 which I don't think is that bad of a price for this. I think it's really cool and
We'll see if it works so the first bag you get are these little pins now. They're not like actual pins
They're like safety pins, and then it includes the adhesive strips
I will not be using the adhesive strips because I feel like these are not gonna stick at all
I'm just gonna be using glue or hot glue
We'll see whatever works better, but I don't think this is gonna be able to hold them on to any bag
I put them on or to anything else
So if you get this set I would make sure you have some glue on hand that you could even add to the adhesive strip
Just to be sure that it stays on and then we have our pins that we're going to be painting
Now these sadly are not metal which I was kind of disappointed about these are just a nice thick silvery plastic
But I love the designs they have a bunch of food ones
There's even a Disney cupcake one which I am really really excited to do
These are more just like accessory type pins
Nothing too. Fancy, but still really really neat, and then it has our
Instruction guide it also include
Z8 paint colors you get blue yellow pink white orange green black and red
So the first step according to the instructions is to break off the pin that you would like to make
So it says to use scissors for this so you will need scissors
Now you could just break them off, but it said to use scissors, just so there is a clean finish to it
So it doesn't snag on anything or catch on anything?
So I'm going to cut out all eighteen and then I'm going to pick which pin. I'm going to do first
You know before I start doing the pins I plugged in my hot glue gun
I feel like that's just gonna be the best bet for it to last
I'm gonna do one that looks easy to start with just to see how well this paint works
so I'm gonna do this Mickey pants first and
Then I'm going to do them the actual color of his pants
So I just squeezed a bunch of paint and then I'm just gonna like spread it around
Some of these spots are kind of hard to get into
All right, so I got it cleaned up pretty good. I think I'm gonna clean them up
Just a little bit more
And then we can add the yellow the only problem with this is you can't really control how much paint comes out at once
So you can kind of see I have some piles
And then some of it's really flat
And if I go in and try to spread it around then it just gets it all over the silver part
So that's the only part I would kind of complain about in a way, um it's really easy to do though
And I like it
I just wished I could get it a little bit neater, so I think we can go ahead and in the yellow now
I
Think that actually turned out pretty good
I know there's some red on the silver
Since I zoomed in for you guys you guys can see some of the red on the silver, but in person
I think it actually turned out pretty good, and it's crazy how much of this looks like a real pin even though
This is plastic so I think we're gonna do the pizza next which I think will be pretty fun
My only concern is the cheese, but I love how little these tubes of paint are like that's so cute
So if you clean and operate as you do it it works a lot better since the pee is not dry yet
One eternity later
So after 10 minutes, I finally got the pizza somewhat clean
So I don't know how many I'm gonna do on camera since there are 18
So I might do some
separately and then come back and show them to you just you guys can see the different ideas if you guys buy this set as
Well, so we have our metal pin, and then I have my hot glue gun. I'm just going to put some glue on
The back of it and then press it
onto the back of the pin I
Just feel like that's gonna hold a lot better than the adhesive like stickers, and I feel like these are gonna be great
to add to any Disney bound outfit
Two hours later
So I finally finished all of the pins it took me quite a few hours to get this done
And I apologize in advance for not filming that much
It was really hard to get good angles of everything, but this kit was a really really fun
I had plenty of paint so you don't need to worry about running out of paint or needing to get more
I would definitely say use the hot glue gun or glue
I feel like it's just a lot safer
And it won't break off the pin is easy it did take me a while to figure out the right technique of doing it
But I was able to get them a lot neater towards the end
