Thank you, thank you for riding, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you,
thank you, Team Buckeye thank you. Most people wouldn't believe that I have metastatic breast
disease, stage IV cancer. They do say, you know, it's an incurable disease by all medical
standards but once I came here and the very first moment I came just for a second opinion,
from the moment I met my oncologist, it was just like a brand new world opened. It was
just like wow, there are people that really care, there are people that are saying, "Hey,
the things that nobody else has tried with you, we're gonna try that first."
I'm on an experimental pill that's called ___________ and it should be shortly on the
market, if not within the next year or so. It's great. I've only been on it for a month
and there has been a significant change in the size of the nodes. After I'd say three
weeks, I'm taking a shower and....................
It's a family that I don't have to worry if I cry. And they're not gonna look at me and
say, "Wow, she's falling apart today; she must be on the edge of the ledge." They just
look at me and they say, "You know, we're gonna get through this."
Everyone, I mean everyone, is so helpful and upbeat. It's hard not to get that same vibe
being here.
We have the greatest people right here in Columbus, Ohio and I appreciate it. So everybody
that's riding in that Pelotonia, I can't ride but I can sure be here to say thank you, thank
you, it's working, keep doing it. It'll be worth that 100 miles or 180 miles or 5 miles.
It'll be worth that five dollars, ten dollars, two dollars. It'll be worth it, you know,
passing out the water to the people that are driving along, or riding along the road. It's
just gonna be worth it. And I just wanna say thank you.
Thank you for being part of Pelotonia's Team Buckeye. You know, through your fundraising
efforts and your commitment to the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and
to The James and the Solove Research Institute, we are all making incredible progress towards
creating the cancer free world that we all want. You should all feel very positive and
proud about all the things that you're doing and have accomplished. It's because of your
efforts at these baked good sales, the hot dog eating contest, the happy hours, the badminton
contests, the socks that I buy, the garage sales; we really are all channeling this into
saving lives. And you know what? We now have raised in just four years and even before
this Pelotonia has started, our fifth year. Even before that, we've already raised $50
million, 100% of which -- because of your efforts -- are going to cure cancer. So thank
you very much and go bucks.
Hi Team Buckeye members. Pat and I look forward to riding with you on the fifth Pelotonia
and we thank all of you for your dedication and everything you are doing to raise money
to help us find a cure for cancer. Let's ride for a cancer free world.
One university, one team, one team, one team, one team, one goal, end cancer, ride on, ride
on.
