Hello! Basically, the reason I'm doing this in a video is to prove to you that nobody's
hacked my account. I've recently written an article for my school magazine - about homophobia
in my school - in which I come out. Here are some answers to some questions that I imagine
you might have.
Yes.
No!
Vaguely since around age fourteen, but pretty definitely since last November, when I told
someone I wasn't gay and felt very dishonest.
Well, of the Christians I've spoken to, all of whom are very nice people, by the way,
some take Lev 18:22 and Lev 20:13 literally and back them up with Matt 5:17-20, which
would have me remain celibate for life, and some think that the Bible can be interpreted
a little more liberally with regard to the Holy Spirit within us which guides our moral
choices and lets us intuit goodness. It's rather divided right now, and Anglicanism
especially seems self-contradictorily broad.
That's a good one - I'd have to say either Peter Tatchell, obviously, or John Corvino,
who is a very funny clever American moral philosopher.
Tommy Heleringer.
It's an interesting bill, though I think it's pretty pragmatic of Cameron to start forcing
it through just after the American election because he saw that liberal Barrack beat conservative
Mitt. Also, it's a UK marriage bill that excludes the Church of England, which I don't really
think makes sense. It's better than nothing, though, so I think they should pass it, if
not just for the symbolism.
Buzzfeed.com's got quite a good LGBT page, but pinknews.co.uk is a more UK-centred gay
news site. Also for an incredibly good gay sitcom, there's one set in New York called
The Outs.
Don't flatter yourself, mate. If you've got any questions which I didn't answer, by all means ask away (although I'd
like to reserve veto rights). Thanks for watching: it's nice for this not to be a secret any more.
