Welcome to the online Anthropology 1 class for fall
2013. I'm Dr. Robert Renger, your instructor for this class.
I would like to take just a moment today to welcome you to the class and I'd also like to show
you our class home page
give you a few suggestions as to how you can use it
to best be successful in the class. After you log into your
my.vcccd.edu you
can go to My Courses. From the My Courses page,
select your Anthropology V01 class. Click on the link
and it will take you to your class home page. Whenever you go to the class home page
make a special point of looking at the area immediately below the class banner
which is where any important new announcements will be posted.
When you first log into the class, make sure you go
to the orientation module. Or, if you've not had an online class before
using the Desire 2 Learn software I strongly recommend
that you go to this area called Student D2L Tutorial
and go to the desire2learn tutorial pages.
You'll find many things here that will answer most of the questions you may have about how to
navigate
within our course management system and you will probably find
it helps you greatly during the course of
the term. From the class
homepage, the first thing you're going to want to do
is complete the orientation module. It is linked
here below the "Start Here" arrow. It is a series of pages that you will work through
moving from one to another through the "Next" link
which you will find up here in the right hand corner of
this frame. Work through all the steps
of the orientation module and when you get
to the end there will be a quiz on the orientation
and the content of the class syllabus. Until you've passed this quiz
you will not be able to continue and take the
chapter one quiz which is due the end of the first week of
assignments.
