A 300-year-old violin worth $6 million was stolen in January, and now it's been recovered
in Milwaukee, Wis.
"Police say the suspects are a 36-year-old man, a 41-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman
... all from Milwaukee, are responsible for the attack of Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra
concertmaster Frank Almond." (Via WITI)
Police say Almond was attacked with a taser in the parking lot of Wisconsin Lutheran College
on Jan. 27. Almond dropped the violin in its case during the attack. (Via WISN)
The New York Times reports one of the suspects in custody was previously linked to the theft
of a valuable piece of artwork from a Milwaukee art gallery.
But police said the violin would likely be harder to sell because it's only valuable
to a small number of people.
Almond is seen playing the instrument in this video.
"This is the violin made by Antonio Stradivari in 1715. It's called the Lipinski Strav."

to the three suspects. (Via Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)
As for the instrument, authorities say even after being dropped on the ground, it's still
in good condition.
