[intro music - GMC WiFi by Autonet Mobile - GMC Sierra HD]
>>GMC WiFi by Autonet mobile is a great way to turn your Sierra
into a mobile office. Once you have purchased WiFi by Autonet mobile,
and the system is installed, you’ll need to register online at
autonetmobile.com/signup, or by fax at the number provide
in your user’s guide. Upon completing and submitting the registration
form, your service will be activated.
To begin using your internet service, turn your vehicle on
to power up Autonet mobile. Turn on your laptop or mobile device.
After 30 seconds, Autonet will appear in your wireless list.
Click on “Autonet” and open a web browser. You’ll be automatically connected to the
Autonet page. Just click on the login button
and begin surfing. The default wireless connection setting
on your Autonet mobile in-vehicle router is unsecured.
To establish a secure connection you may enable WEP security
and change the default password. To do this,
find the router’s 10-digit serial number. You can find it in 4 locations:
on the back of the router, on the side of the router where the antenna’s
attached, on the front of your user’s manual,
and on the front of the quick start guide. Open a web browser and go to the url
http://www.autonetrouter.com/admin/ Login as username “autonet”
and use the unit’s serial number as the password.
Click on the login button, then click on wireless settings.
The default WEP key that is already set will not show.
To change the WEP key, simply enter 10 new digits.
If you prefer an ASCII string, you may use the prefix s: and add 5 characters.
If you wish to disable WEP security, enter OFF as the WEP key.
Provide this new password to those who you want to allow access to the router.
Now that you’ve established your security protection,
setting up your truck’s secure internet service is simple.
Full set-up guides for various operating systems are provided on the support page
of the Autonet mobile website.
