Hey guys Danny from Danny Mac's Kitchen Today is a how to video on how to
make blue cheese dressing at home from scratch
As you know I am a big proponent of making things at home from scratch
because you have 100% complete control of what goes into your product also
it's a hell of a lot better than store bought anyway, I'm a huge label reader
Whenever I go out to the super market and I'm looking for something, I pick something
up I always read the label
If there are like 2 or more things on the back
and I'm just like um..I don't even know what this is, benzoate, potassium this, that, I
don't know I don't buy it
I figure out how to make it at home from scratch and you know what
usually more times than not it's pretty easy
Just as what I'm going to show you is super easy, you're going to love it
Let's get started I mean really more often than not
your only going to need a few ingredients to make most things and this is the case here
We're going to use 2 cups of mayonnaise I'm using 1 cup of sour cream
2 table spoons of garlic powder 2-3 ounces red wine vinegar
1 cup of buttermilk I got 1 pound of blue cheese here
because we are making blue cheese dressing and I want it really cheesy
I'm going to use one bunch of chives chopped and salt and pepper to taste
I need you to get a bowl and we're going to get going
It's going to take like 2 minutes I'm telling ya, real quick
Just add your mayonnaise all 2 cups
The sour cream The buttermilk followed by
the red wine vinegar Garlic powder
and half of the blue cheese I want you to reserve half of it for later
You'll see why in a minute I'm using a hand wand
I'm going to mix this until smooth if you don't have one use a handmixer
but you really want it to be nice and smooth Yeah, I'm looking super smooth, we're good
Now the blue cheese I asked you to reserve We're going to add
I really wanted you to incorporate the first part of the blue cheese because that's
really going to give it the flavor but I also like it to have really
awesome big chunks in it too so add that, add the chives
Some people don't put chives in their blue cheese
I do, it's my style, whatever Season salt and fresh pepper
and we're just going to mix all that up Really fold it in
I know it looks a little loose right now but we're going to refrigerate this
for at least 2 or 3 hours just really let it set
Let these flavors come together and that's pretty much it
that's all you have to do Amazing blue cheese dressing
at home from scratch No preservatives, no corn syrup
none of that crap Yeah, 2 to 3 hours in your fridge
ready to use
