Irina Muravyova, Head of the Moscow Civil Registry Offices:
Here are the figures, results and sums of the work of the Moscow Civil Registry Offices in 2010.
Unfortunately, I would like to start with the registration of the marriage certificates
and we have noticed a slight decrease of marriages in Moscow in 2010.
This year there were 91,149 marriages, which is 1,182 less than in 2009.
The tendency is preserved and the majority of the brides and grooms are in the age of 25-34.
In 2010 51% of grooms were in this age group, as well as 47% of women.
20% of men and 33% of women in the age of 18-24 entered the marriage in 2010;
29% of men and 20% of women being 35 years old or older.
68% of men and 71% of women became married for the first time in 2010.
In 2010 165 adolescents became married, all in all 140 women and 25 men.
This figure is 30% less than in 2009.
In 10,416 marriages foreign citizens took part, which is by 1,926 marriages less than in 2009.
The biggest share of marriages in Moscow in 2010 were concluded between the citizens
of Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kirghizia, Kazakhstan and Georgia.
The highest percent of marriages with the foreign citizens in Moscow in 2010
involved the citizens of Turkey, Germany, Israel, Vietnam, US, UK, Italy, France, Serbia and Afghanistan.
Shortly we'll talk about the most pleasant registration,
and I am talking about the registration of birth of the young Muscovites and kids in our city.
All in all, 123,638 birth certificates were given in Moscow in 2010,
which is by 7,363 more as compared with 2009.
11,327 births were registered in the families where one parent or both parents are foreign citizens,
which by 390 less than in the previous year.
Not significantly, by 110 births has decreased the birth statistics in the young families.
And still in the young families, with parents 30 years old or younger, 38,556 infants were born in 2010.
I would like to remind you that the municipality of Moscow provides a range of non-recurrent aids
on the birth of children in young families.
An for the birth of the first child amounts to 5 minimum wages, for the birth of the second child -
to 7 minimum wages, while for the birth of the third one
and all the consequent ones 10 minimum wages are provided.
The minimum wage in Moscow nowadays amount s to 8,448 RUB.
You can calculate yourselves and have an idea of payments which still help our youth
to prepare themselves for the birth of a child.
Right now I would like to name top ten most popular male and female names.
Frankly speaking, our names in 2010 did not change.
Maria remains the leader among the girls; the second place is reserved for Anastasia,
the third - for Daria.
Anna, Elizaveta, Polina, Ekaterina, Victoria, Sofja and Sofia.
Sofja holds the ninth place, while Sofia - the tenth.
As you can see from this list, especially those who participate in this event not for the first time,
from the top ten female names disappeared Alexandra.
However, Alexander remains the top male name.
Already for six years this names has been on top of the list among the male names.
The second place belongs to Maxim.
Artyom, Ivan, Dmitry, Mikhail, Nikita, Daniil, Egor and Kirill constitute the rest of the list.
These are the most popular names chosen by the Muscovites as the future names for their children.
Among the unusual names are Eremey Protector, Luka Happiness Somerset Ocean,
a name composed from four parts, Ogneslav, Muno, Nikita, Arkhip, Urals, Kit, Radost, Okeana, Alyosha Kaprina -
the first and middle name of a girl.
All in all, in the last 10 years the number of death registrations in Moscow decreased by 3,5%.
130,692 deaths were registered in 2000, and 126,127 in 2010.
Nevertheless we are full of optimism and hope very much
that in case of no global abnormal natural circumstances,
the age group of our citizens will be increasing,
the average time of living will increase more and more and we will receive a positive dynamics in Moscow,
a decrease in deaths and death registrations.
