I believe that technology in teaching and learning is radically and positively
impacting education
by improving achievement, enhancing pedagogy
and igniting the 21st century mind.
With technology, I can amplify differentiation through transmedia
engaging and connecting every student to the content,
creating unique approaches to learning.
Using technology, I can give my students more ways to illustrate learning
through a variety of authentic assessments
and track their learning with formative immediate feedback while
preparing them for producing unique work in the future.
Technology allows me to support and encourage failure;
Students are not afraid to fail, can repeatedly fail,
and learn until mastery has been achieved.
With no fear of failure, I can ask students to risk experimentation and try things
they may have never thought to try,
encouraging creativity and a unique flexibility of the mind.
With technology I can teach students how to innovate, how to ask "How Might We?"
solve complex problems, and combine seemingly unrelated things.
Technology is relevant to the lives of students and the real world,
making the content self-important and immediately interesting
embedded with digital literacy and citizenship skills.
I believe teachers are students, too,
and I make it my mission to not only share with others how technology can make a
positive difference on teaching and learning,
but also to be an example of the powerful impact of technology in the classroom.
