And now it is time for a pirate treasure hunt. A pirate treasure hunt with treasure. That
sounds exciting. Now there is two ways of playing this game. If you got younger children,
you might want to just make it really simple. Gather the children up in front of you. You
might be able to find some kind of fun chest. You can buy plastic ones at stores for very
little money. Fill it up with prizes. When the children are sitting with you, tell them
that you've hidden some treasure under a nearby tree. The tree is very tall. You should be
able to find the treasure around it. Show them what this little thing they are looking
for. The children will go and look in the nearby trees. And sure enough there they find
the gold coins. They run back and show you their coins. And in return, you'll give them
some real pirate treasure from your treasure chest. A little prize playing the game. And
send them off to find some more gold coins. In another part of the garden, that's the
easy version. The second version, is for older children or families to enjoy. It involves
a little bit more time and writing, writing out little notes for your guests. The idea
is to write out a clue. And fix to your first chosen spot in the garden or yard or area.
For example, a tree that's got flowers on that is very nearby. That eliminates a lot
of trees. The children and their families and their parents will look around. When they
find that tree, there'll be another note attached to it sending them to another spot. Say a
note to a wheelbarrow. Stuck to the upturn wheelbarrow is another little message sending
them to another part of the yard or the garden or the field. It's time. It might be some
flower pots. Inside or on the outside of the flower pot, you might put another little note,
sending them to another spot. The final spot is where the treasure is found. The children
and their families bring back the treasure to you. And you can go into your treasure
chest and give everyone a bigger prize. It's a fun game and everybody enjoys it and that's
a treasure hunt.
