I live in San Antonio and we have
some fantastic medical complexes. With the military being so
prevalent everywhere. We also have the Wounded
Warrior Center for the Intrepid.
We also have a higher population of senior citizens.
Our wounded warriors very often have a physical disability or maybe
from shrapnel that causes them to have a visual impairment.
Bookshare can work for them as well. They can have access to text so that they can
further their education or just to
find high-interest reading that they enjoy.
The seniors that I'm finding, and my own dad has a visual issue right now,
the senior citizens can also have access
to Bookshare so they can also read the magazines and
newspapers
and the books that they might want to talke about in the book club
with their friends, so it's really a beautiful
opportunity for access for a whole wide range (of books)
as people transition from being school-aged children to
looking at post-secondary academic endeavors
up and through their senior years as their enter
twilight.
