RYAN STONEHOUSE: So if I look far out into the horizon and I
start to think about the power of social and bringing people
to the forefront of web experiences, what excites me
most is the ability to truly personalize brand experiences,
digital experiences, and do it in a way
that it creates scale.
So for an example, when my mom hits a website, she should
have a very different experience than I do.
Right?
Over time we think that, as we bring people into the fold,
we'll be able to create personalized web experiences
be they on Google+ or perhaps off.
And we'll be able to do that at scale for our marketers.
Yeah, when we start to think about the power of hangouts, a
good recent example is that they're not only allowing
people to connect on a more natural human level using
many-to-many video the way we have today, but in some cases,
they're allowing humans to connect where they couldn't
have otherwise even in the offline world.
To give you an example, based on some political
ramifications, Desmond Tutu and His Holiness the Dalai
Lama wanted to get together for a peace summit.
And where in the real life outside of the digital space
it was not possible for them to make that connection, they
were able to using a Google+ hangout.
So now we're starting to think about not only making great
digital connections in the digital space, but now
enabling and empowering people to have social connection that
may have never otherwise existed in the real world.
