We embarked on our adventure at sunset, an Oceanside retreat at Oceanstone Resort. We
didn't have to go far. A 45 minute scenic drive, where our biggest troubles were keeping
our eyes on the road. Over the past three years, we've had our fair
share of vacations and staycations. Here's what we've learned.
The journey is part of the trip, so take the scenic route. Go just as far as you have to,
to feel like you're world away...Its rarely as far as you'd think.
Local food at small, unique restaurants make for better conversation, and candlelight is
cliché for a reason. Food is made to be savoured, so go ahead,
pour, dunk, swirl, suck, lick, soak, slice. You get bonus points if you eat to live music,
double bonus points if the restaurant breaks out into spontaneous dancing, and triple points
if you finish with handmade chocolate. If you find a place that's walking distance
from dinner to cozy cabin, the answer is YES! Better still if that cabin has a wood stove
and is in walking distance to the sea. Our recent stay was just 10 steps.
The bed is the most important part of a romantic accommodation. Choose wisely!
Take time to relax in the morning. Extra time in bed, morning cuddles, coffee with a view,
and morning adventures. Get outside! Take it all in! And make plans
to come back.
