I got these free records today,At a yard sale. They were given away old records and we're trying to figure out what
to do with them
They are making clocks out of them, but then we came across this thing
online where you you try to make bowls out of them so we're gonna try that you
take a bowl like this set your
temperature about 150 degrees put the record over the bowl like this
and bend it over it there when it gets nice the soft and
bendy I guess you should shape it into the bowl
You shape it in a bowl and it should come out pretty cool I don't know how cool it's going
come out for us but these
records are pretty old and they're pretty thick vinyl
so I don't know if there worth anything but we're going to try it anyways
How long does it take to warm up?
Not long.Well feel it.Is it warm?
You actually have to start the oven to heat it up so gonna try this here
hope it comes out cool, will have a new chip bowl
Then we'll will make a bunch of them and sell for 60 bucks a piece like they do on
Etsy
How long how long does it say to make them?
Until it get's soft and bendy. hopefully will be multi millionaires in a few days
when we sell these things
Because you know they're gonna go so fast once we put them online
here we go now we got it softer now she's gonna try to mold it
so really cool shape here
like okay we're going to create this this bowl that's going to help us
create a million dollar business Now don't smell this plastic
kinda dangerous
to smell so you got to have it well-ventilated
and so if you're doing a lot of these. Is how you want to do it yeah
okay do the edge
your let on the shape for the bowl to
let retain its shape yeah his starting to cool off really fast
hot,hot as hell okay
Alright and anybody can make it if you have some old records at home
you just put them over the bowl We had to raise
the temperature
Mold it around the bowl We had to raise the temperature
almost 300 because these are
record from 1946 and they are a lot thicker
there a lot thicker so
I think from the newer recordss will take around 150 200 degrees
we had to go longer then five minutes to
This is our first attempt at a vinyl record
chip bowl or party ball put some pretzels in there or anything you want
really can't put cereal in there because it's got a hole in the middle
but for a first shot it came up pretty cool you can see
the edges burnt little because they were touching the pan
You can pick it up now it little warm
It cooled off pretty fast
but other then that if you're careful
with the edges you can
come out with something pretty cool alright so there we go
We have our first
party bowl made out of a vinyl record
set them out and they'll be a good conversation starter
There you go
