Now.. those with the inclination do so have been able to get free access to Korea's patent
information for a while now, but from next month the patent information of the U.S.,
Japan, China and the European Union -- which together account about 90 percent of all global
patents -- will also be freely available. This was one of the main resolutions reached
at the IP5 Heads of Office meeting held in Korea's southern port city of Busan this week.
The heads of the five major intellectual property offices from Korea, the U.S., Japan, China
and the EU,... or so-called IP5,... attended the meeting, discussing a wide range of issues
and ways to increase work-sharing among the five offices.
The next IP5 heads meeting will be held in China next year.
